Opportunity: China
China is the world's largest cable market, with over 300 cable TV operators, 378 million
TV households and 152 million cable TV households. |
China Cablecom is an emerging consolidated cable network operator and service provider authorized by the PRC government to control the distribution of cable TV services through the deployment of analog and digital cable services. The Company originally acquired operating rights of the Binzhou Broadcasting network in Shandong Province, one of China’s most affluent and addressable cable markets. In June 2008, China Cablecom expanded its footprints into Hubei province with additional paying subscribers exceeding 800,000.
China Cablecom's initial focus is on building strategic partnerships, consolidating the operations of municipal and county cable network operators in the Shandong and Hubei province. Today, the Company operates 28 cable networks with over 1.4 million paying subscribers. China Cablecom's strategy is to replicate the acquisitions by operating partnership models in tier 2 and tier 3 cities in the PRC and then introducing operating efficiencies and increasing service offerings in the networks in which it operates. |
